Bredin Prat appoints 4 Partners and 5 Counsels

Bredin Prat is pleased to announce the appointment of four new Partners from its Corporate, Tax Law, White-Collar Crime and Litigation practices, and five Counsels from its Corporate, Competition and EU Law, White-Collar Crime and Public Law practices.

The firm now has more than 200 lawyers, including 52 Partners and 22 Counsels.

Bredin Prat’s Senior Partner, Didier Martin, commented:

We are delighted to welcome four new Partners – Myriam Epelbaum (Corporate), Jean-Baptiste Frantz (Tax Law) Martin Horion (White-Collar Crime) and Tom Vauthier (Litigation). Five other lawyers of the firm – Jenyfer Bianchi (White-Collar Crime), Douceline Chabord (Corporate), Chloé Méléard (White-Collar Crime), Gabrielle Reddé (Public Law) and Sophie Troussard-Fauré (Competition and EU Law) – have also been appointed as Counsels. These appointments will enable the continued growth in quality and expertise of our practice areas for the benefit of our clients.”

 

  • Myriam Epelbaum, Partner | Corporate

Myriam Epelbaum, Partner, is a member of the firm’s Corporate team.

Her practice focuses primarily on corporate governance, advising numerous listed companies including in relation to ESG matters.

She also assists clients on M&A transactions, as well as securities law matters, especially those involving major governance issues.

Myriam gives seminars in company law at the University of Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas and the University of Paris Dauphine.

She has participated in several working groups set up by the Haut Comité Juridique de la Place Financière de Paris (HCJP) (the Paris Financial Market Law Committee) and is the Rapporteur of its Say-on-Climate working group.

Admitted to the Paris Bar (2014), Myriam is a graduate of the University of Paris 2 Panthéon‑Assas (Master’s degree in Banking and Financial Law, 2011; Master’s degree in Business Law, 2010; Maîtrise in Business Law, 2009).

 

  • Jean-Baptiste Frantz, Partner | Tax Law

Jean-Baptiste Frantz, Partner, is a member of the firm’s Tax Law team.

He advises clients on the tax aspects of a wide range of corporate transactions (public and private M&A, private equity and corporate reorganisations), and a large part of his practice involves advising clients in relation to tax audits and the resolution of tax litigation matters.

His practice also includes advising private clients, including senior executives and shareholders.

Jean-Baptiste joined Bredin Prat in 2014 and was seconded to Cravath, Swaine & Moore in New York City from 2017 to 2018.

Admitted to the Paris Bar (2015), Jean-Baptiste is a graduate of the business school HEC Paris (2012), the University of Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas (Master’s degree in International Taxation, 2012), and the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (Maîtrise in Business Law, 2010).

 

  • Martin Horion, Partner | White-Collar Crime

Martin Horion, Partner, is a member of the firm’s White-Collar Crime team.

He has a proven track record of expertise in the major areas of white-collar criminal law (such as violation of probity, criminal offences affecting public finances, market abuses, criminal offences under consumer law, labour law, competition law and restructuring law, cybercrime, international sanctions, corporate criminal law, fraud, etc.).

He assists companies and their senior executives as well as public figures in connection with enforcement proceedings or actions for damages, in France and abroad, in all types of proceedings.

Admitted to the Paris Bar (2015) and to the New York Bar (2016), Martin is a graduate of Columbia Law School (LL.M., 2015), the University of Cergy-Pontoise (Master’s degree in Financial Criminal Law, 2012) and ESSEC Business School (2013).

 

  • Tom Vauthier, Partner | Litigation

Tom Vauthier, Partner, is a member of the firm’s Litigation team.

He advises and assists companies and their senior executives in resolving complex business law litigation matters, and in particular, in an international context (contract law, corporate law, private international law).

He represents clients in litigation proceedings before the civil, commercial and criminal courts, in addition to assisting clients resolve disputes through out-of-court settlements.

Tom was seconded to Kirkland & Ellis in New York from 2017 to 2018.

Admitted to the Paris Bar (2011), Tom is a graduate of the University of Paris Dauphine (Master’s degree in International Affairs, 2010) and SciencesPo (Master’s degree in Economic Law, specialising in Litigation and Arbitration, 2009).

 

  • Jenyfer Bianchi, Counsel | White-Collar Crime

Jenyfer Bianchi, Counsel, is a member of the firm’s White-Collar Crime team.

She assists and represents companies and their senior executives in connection with criminal proceedings before the courts and market authorities.

Her practice focuses particularly on advising clients in relation to criminal proceedings involving complex financial offences (money laundering, corruption, favouritism by public officials, and tax fraud), as well as proceedings initiated by the French Financial Market Authority, the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF), in relation to market abuse.

Admitted to the Paris Bar (2015), Jenyfer is a graduate of the University of Paris 2 Panthéon‑Assas (Master’s degree in Litigation, Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution, 2012) and the University of Toulouse 1 Capitole (Master’s degree in Private Law, 2011, Certificate in Criminology and Criminal Science, Institute of Criminology, 2009).

 

  • Douceline Chabord, Counsel | Corporate

Douceline Chabord, Counsel, is a member of the firm’s Corporate team.

Her practice focuses mainly on capital markets transactions, including in particular IPOs, spin-offs, share capital increases, private placements, block trades, as well as equity-linked and bond issues, on French and international markets.

She also advises listed companies on corporate and securities law matters.

Admitted to the Paris Bar (2013), Douceline is a graduate of the University of Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas (Master’s degree in Banking and Financial Law, 2012) and the University Paris Dauphine (Master’s degree in Business Law, 2010).

 

  • Chloé Méléard, Counsel | White-Collar Crime

Chloé Méléard, Counsel, is a member of the firm’s White-Collar Crime team.

She assists and represents companies and their senior executives, as well as public figures, in connection with criminal, civil and commercial court proceedings.

Chloé Méléard assists clients in particular in the context of criminal proceedings (investigations by criminal police officers or investigating magistrates, out-of-court measures, trial proceedings) or proceedings initiated by various authorities (French Financial Markets Authority (AMF), French Anti-Corruption Agency (AFA), World Bank, etc.).

She is also developing a general criminal law practice and is registered on the Paris Bar’s criminal defence lawyers list for urgent proceedings.

Chloé has taught white-collar criminal law in the Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Business Law of the University of Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas.

Admitted to the Paris Bar (2016), Chloé is a graduate of the University of Cambridge (LL.M., 2015) and the University of Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas (Master’s degree and Magistère de Juriste d’Affaires – DJCE, 2014).

 

  • Gabrielle Reddé, Counsel | Public Law

Gabrielle Reddé is Counsel and a member of the firm’s Public Law team.

She advises both public- and private-sector entities, mainly industrial sponsors and investment funds in large-scale transport, construction or energy infrastructure projects, in the context of structuring and development operations, and financing and M&A transactions, as well as asset management and dispute resolution matters. She has particular expertise in complex pre-litigation and litigation matters relating to such projects.

Working on both transactional and litigation matters, she assists clients on the regulatory aspects (permits, environment, regulations on foreign investment in France) and contractual aspects (negotiation, drafting, performance, termination and renewal of PPP, concession, public procurement, EPC, O&M and supply contracts, etc.), working closely with the firm’s corporate and financing teams.

Prior to joining Bredin Prat, Gabrielle practised at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP for more than seven years.

Admitted to the Paris Bar (2017), Gabrielle is a graduate of the University of Paris 2 Panthéon‑Assas (Master’s degree in Public Business Law, 2013) and of the business school ESSEC (Master’s degree in International Business Law and Management, 2014).

 

  • Sophie Troussard-Fauré, Counsel | Competition and EU Law

Sophie Troussard-Fauré, Counsel, is a member of the Competition and EU Law team.

She assists French and international companies before French and European courts and competition authorities, in cases covering all aspects of competition law, with a particular focus on cartel and merger control investigations.

Prior to joining Bredin Prat, Sophie practised at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP for nine years.

Admitted to the Paris Bar (2014), Sophie graduated from the University of Paris 2 Panthéon‑Assas (Master’s degree in General Private Law, 2013), the University of Oxford (Magister Juris, 2012), and from King’s College London and the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (Bachelor of Laws and Maîtrise en droits, 2011).
