Bredin Prat advises Ubisoft in connection with a €1.16 billion minority stake investment by Tencent in Ubisoft’s new subsidiary bringing together the Assassin’s Creed®, Far Cry® and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six® brands

3 April 2025 Press releases

Bredin Prat is advising Ubisoft in connection with a €1.16 billion investment by Tencent, the Chinese major in digital services and video games, for a minority stake in a new Ubisoft subsidiary focused on developing the Assassin’s Creed®, Far Cry® and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six® franchises. Through this investment Tencent would own approximately 25% of the new Ubisoft subsidiary.

This new subsidiary will focus on building game ecosystems designed to become truly evergreen and multi-platform. Backed by greater investment and boosted creative capacities, it will drive further increases in quality of narrative solo experiences, expand multiplayer offerings with increased frequency of content release, introduce free-to-play touchpoints, and integrate more social features.

The transaction values the new subsidiary at a pre-money Enterprise Value of around €4 billion.
