Bredin Prat’s arbitration practice has been a leading practice of the firm since its inception. The firm acts in domestic and international arbitration proceedings involving both French and foreign law, including disputes under the various institutional rules, such as the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC), International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the American Arbitration Association (AAA) as well as ad hoc arbitrations.
Bredin Prat’s arbitration team has extensive experience acting as counsel before arbitration tribunals under UNCITRAL, ICC and ICSID, whether against, or on behalf of, sovereign States and State-owned entities. The firm has a particularly deep understanding and working knowledge of bilateral investment treaties.
The firm’s arbitration lawyers are regularly asked to act as arbitrators in proceedings involving highly specialised matters under the aegis of arbitration institutions such as the ICC, LCIA, DIAC and AFA (the French arbitration association).
